Heading from Corvara, we passed over the Val Gardena Pass and then headed westwards. We decided to visit Trautmannsdorf Castle on route, home to pretty samazing gardens and then headed on toward Madonna di Campiglio, high in the Brenta Dolomites. We actually stayed further on in a small and pleasant town called Pinzolo. The weather wasn’t exactly good to us and afforded us only the odd glimpse of the scenery. We managed a couple of walks having made a bad judgement about accessing the via Ferrata routes which in this area are much better done in groups from refuge bases on the mountain.
