From Pinzolo, we headed down hill and into the heat. Arriving at Lake Garda, we found ever square inch around the lake occupied by oiled bodies - some of which would have been much better fully clothed !

Crossing the lake by ferry, we headed on to Padova and got thoroughly lost in the one way system. The map didn’t help much as we simply couldn’t figure out how to get onto the right section of one way !! Once we had negotiated our way down some unbelievably narrow streets, we found the hotel and dived into a shower to cool off. From Padova, we headed off to Venice, dumping the car and catching a water boat to central Venice, and hawling our bags through crowds of tourists.

We enjoyed a meal that cost us a fair whack in the hotel restaurant, and we entertained by the head waiter who once he knew we had spent part of our honey there 10 years previously, had us laughing when he said about us “refreshing the honey”.
